I will also recommend for people to check out Sadanoumi's bout. It was a less graceful version of Ura's spin fest from a couple days ago. I joked I was nearly as tilted watching that bout as Sadanoumi was.
No problem! Sumo's speed is a double edged sword. It's nice to watch a day's bouts in 30 minutes, but it can be hard to see what's going on during first viewing. -0.25 speed on YouTube is a godsend, though.
What a great basho so far. There were so many great matches on day 5. And it's awesome to see Hoshoryu off to such a fine start.
It's a relief to not have a "what's wrong with Hoshoryu?" narrative hanging over the basho, isn't it?
It is. It feels like he really needs this so I’m happy to see it.
I want to see more and more of Hoshoryu’s Yokosumo👍🙋🏻♀️
Really is a joy to watch.

Sadanoumi is a always a good watch. He's like a shark thrashing around with its food at times.
Thanks for the breakdown of Aonishiki's get-behind move. I was amazed but had absolutely no idea exactly how it happened :D
