I wish they had some padding here. With how they are able to make bandages disappear against skin, they must be able to put down padding that looks near invisible.
Asakoryu (4-5) def. Shishi (6-3) by shitatenage (overarm throw)* ... definitely the hidden gem of the day, and here's my hoping that both of these guys reach 8 wins.
I'm sort of conceding Wakatakakage's ozeki bid at this point. He can't afford to lose another bout, but still has to face both Yokozunas.
But boy, how about that Shodai? He was an ozeki when I started following the sport and it's been sad to see him sliding down the ranks. This month he's fighting like he used to. I thought he was gonna rip Tobizaru's arm out of the socket before he blew him into the 3rd row. His real test will come later this week.
Oh man! I was expecting to see Wakamotoharu all pancaked like Judge Doom at in Who Framed Roger Rabbit😂
That scared the hell out of me when I was a kid.
Legit scared the dog laughing at this image. I haven't seen a smushing like that since Kotozakura crunched Kirishima in March (or May?).
Forgot about that but just rewatched it and eesh Kirishima's poor legs!
You would think they would pad those concrete floors, but then I suppose guys are usually coming down on soft human bodies.

Those early losses to Hakuoho and Tamawashi really hurt him.
Shodai is looking great. I don't think he can keep it up this week, though. I'd love to be wrong, though.
I'm hopeful we see a 10 (or more) win Kotozakura this tourney. That will help heal the pain in my heart over Daiesho.
He's looking food for that. This is the most mobile I've seen him all year.
