So many good fights! That moment between Ura and Ichiyamamoto was almost touching.... And my favorite Midorifuji has a new red mawashi! I loved to see Hoshoryu win and want to see it continue. And Onosato looks strong - no sign of the troubles he faced in his last basho.
Feel free to remove me from the Tegata giveaway, since I won last time!
I’ll definitely watch that doc. I’m just up and at them in the mountain time zone and about to sus out day three results (look forward as ever to your analysis!). Thank you again for your service, sir. 💪💪💪
I think Ono has got over all the Ozeki hype and has his "old" game face on again. That Hosh got the rope I think has also put some more fire into him. BUT—as ever—we shall see!
Thanks for all your hard work, Tim, and thanks too for the Goeido-yusho vid. He was amazing. Watching him, it's tough to see why he didn't go further!
Goiedo is one of the subjects of an excellent documentary called Sumodo. That doc shows he struggled with injuries quite a lot, but would never show it. He didn't like to wear strapping or braces because he didn't want his opponents to target him in any weak spots.
I’m at the event today (day 3) and will be here for day 4 and 5 as well. Thanks for all the hard work Tim and looking forward to your recaps!
Wow! That's so cool. I hope you have the best time (and get some cool merch!).
Oh wow. Enjoy the sumo!

Thanks for sharing the video of Goeido's yusho. Crazy that he won only once but pulled off a zen yusho. Incredible sumo
Yeah, must have caught lightning in a bottle for that tournament. I wonder who will get the next zen yusho?
