Is Hoshoryu ever happy? His intensity is fun but also seems overboard and will get him enemies. I am reminded of how bad Terunofuji and Tobizaru disliked each other.

He looks like he has a lot of fun outside of the ring. He's often smiling and laughing it up. He just has this amazing ability to switch into game mode when he competes. He is easily drawn into feuds and grudges, though. Even so, those don't seem to extend past the basho. Though, we'll have to keep an eye on the next tour to see if he if punishes Wakamotoharu for what happened (like Terunofuji used to do, even to Wakamotoharu once).

Fujiryoga seems like another one trick pony, but that trick doesn’t seem to rely as much on explosiveness as it does for Takerufuji or even for Takakeisho. He’s got some pretty tremendous strength but is short armed and was manhandled in his one loss

He's big, but I don't know if he has the athleticism to compliment it.

Well Tim, by now your in the rapture of wins

However here in my house I am now living with the insufferable Mr Sto

Told you so !!

What really ghouls me is Mr Sto not even interested in Sumo !!

He says he should have put a bet on

Co-viewing sumo really is the best, though, even when you get chirped by your spouse!

Hoshoryu did not look all too happy. Maybe even a skosh angry. He may be on a mission to take this tournament. I’ll still stick to Onosato.

Hoshoryu's emotions have affected him for better and worse over his career. Only he can say whether or not he'd rather fight without them. Onosato has shown some frustrations in his performances sometimes, but I've never seen him crack from nerves or appear angry at anyone.

I agree this will go to Onasato,

Hoshoryu was attacked very aggressively by Takayasu, and nobody seemed very surprised, Takayasu being not only Onasato dew sweeper but also mentor from the same stable, so the objective here is to help him win at any cost !

I think Takayasu is starting to become Onosato's enforcer.

Good Morning all, well nobody’s laughing now !

That comment has come from my rather SMUG husband , he quipped after all that plotting [ Takayasu]

After he heard the tragic tears being dripped from me after Aonishiki won relatively quickly against Hoshoryu , directly after watching Kotazakura win fairly easily surprisingly against Onosato!!

Tim was bang on the money , but nobody anticipated a Kotakazura win against Onosato

Let’s face it no one saw both Yokozuna loosing, my husband disagrees emphatically, he feels we are underestimating Aonishiki

I have to say personally it’s still going to be a Onosato win in the end, but I did think Onosato looked in pain after the match.

Mr Dj Sto is saying Aonishiki standard of fight between July and now has improved dramatically

Still on a brighter less sobbing note, Atamifuji has come through the big boy playroom relatively unscathed, Kirishima put him out eventually, quite tough on his back lifting Atamifuji, but I have to say that Kirishima didn’t then attempt to make a point and deliberately throw Atamifuji out, and I noted a quick tap on Atamifuji arm from Kirishima as he checked in on him.

So whose taking the title??

Well Tim Mrs Sumo Stomp was absolutely right, Takayasu was extremely aggressive and it did look like a pub punch up and I have seen a fair few in my time ! To be fair if you look at some of Onosatos opponents last week they were in a few cases not very taxing, day 1 for example started with Takayasu ! I do feel there is a little bias in choosing Hoshoryus opponents they have been much more aggressive and consistent in thier attacking practices, and Hoshoryu has had to fight it out, which I mentioned the other day .

We still have one Rikishi that could really upset the apple cart Tokihayate currently on 9-3 one behind !

Last and not least Atamifuji, I have been pleased he’s not been killed yet , taken out today by Tokihayate , but honestly I thought well its not for the lack of trying hard.

I've always really liked Tokihayate. He's very smooth and his pulling throws are very easy on the eye. I'm not sure how far he can go with his lack of size, but he's been able to get under those bigger guys and use their weight against them well.

I managed to subscribe it took some doing, but I am delighted

Tokihayate is interesting his shifty and nippy !

Thank you so much for the subscription. I really appreciate it!
