2025 Aki Banzuke prediction results - I did pretty good!
The September rankings are out, let's see how close they were to my predictions.
The banzuke for the 2025 aki basho dropped over the weekend. That means we are just a few weeks away from new sumo!
Last week I tried to predict how it would go. This was only the second time I tried one of these. That prediction article is available below:

Below is my reproduction of the 2025 aki banzuke. I’ve added a Record column that shows the wrestlers’ records at the Nagoya basho. I’ve also added a Net Wins column and a Change column that shows how many places a wrestler has moved up and down on the banzuke.
It’s colour coded, too! Green means I was spot on in my prediction. Yellow means I was off by half a rank. Orange means I was off by one rank and red means I was off by more than that. I did pretty good. I nailed twenty predictions and was only way off on four guys.
I’m pretty happy with that.

There aren’t many surprises in this banzuke. The top ranks were easy to predict, as was the joi for the most part.
